Bacteria Blitz Registration
You’re invited to participate in a summer Bacteria Monitoring Blitz! Through our Swimmable ShoreRivers program, we are offering this one-time opportunity to have the water off your property or from your local swimming area tested for bacteria levels.
To participate, supporters are asked to pay a $50 fee, which also renews your membership with ShoreRivers. You will be directed to the payment form after completing the information below. Participants must pick up a sampling kit from the Easton or Chestertown ShoreRivers office between Monday, July 20, and Friday, July 24 (9am–4pm). We are also offering a third pickup location at Lovely Cove Coffee Shop in Galena, where participants can pick up their sampling kit on Thursday, July 23, between 1–3pm. All participants will collect a water sample on Monday, July 27, between 5–9:30am, and return it that morning between 8–10am to the same location they selected for pickup. An instructional video on sample collection will be sent in advance.
ShoreRivers will provide you with a report on the results of your sample within one week of analysis, as well as information on the general causes and threats of bacteria pollution, and resources available to help if high bacteria levels are found. We ask that every participant acknowledge and sign a Bacteria Monitoring Agreement, provided to you after hitting submit on this form. Please note that you can not participate in this program without filling out this form, which should be downloaded and emailed to gfilson@shorerivers.org.
