As a Restoration Technician, Nick Baumgartner assists in delivering ecological restoration projects that support ShoreRivers efforts to achieve healthy waterways across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Nick grew up on the Eastern Shore in St. Michaels and spent his early years sailing the Miles River on a skipjack, where he learned about the factors contributing to the pollution of the Bay, and developed a passion for environmental protection.

He earned a degree in atmospheric and oceanic science from the University of Maryland, then lived in North Carolina for a few years before returning to the Shore. Nick’s professional background is in land surveying and permitting. Outside of work, he enjoys painting, writing, sports, and his two cats, Baggie and Tuna.
