As the 2025-2026 Chesapeake Conservation & Climate Corps member, Grace is involved in various ShoreRivers programs, hands-on research, and public outreach events. Throughout her time with the Corps, she will collaborate with both the Riverkeeper and Education departments — collecting water quality data on nearby beaches, conducting bacteria testing to ensure safe swimming waters, working on restoring submerged aquatic vegetation beds throughout the Chesapeake region, promoting environmental stewardship to younger audiences through educational initiatives, and engaging with the local community through advocacy efforts.

Grace graduated from Dickinson College in May 2025 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a focus on ecology and environmental education. Her passion for hands-on environmental work led her to study abroad with the School for Field Studies in the Wet Tropics of Queensland, Australia, where she conducted wildlife surveys and monitored ecosystem health while learning about applied restoration strategies in tropical environments. Grace has also worked in both environmental education and conservation roles on the Eastern Shore, both with the Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum and as the science technician for the Maryland Coastal Bays Program, where she focused primarily on waterbird conservation.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps increases access and opportunities to green careers across the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The program supports and trains the next generation of stewards in professions that restore and protect our environment and natural resources ensuring a healthy place for all of us to live.
