Join Ben Ford, Miles-Wye Riverkeeper, for a Guided Eco-Paddle launching from Kent Island Resort to explore the scenic waterways of Thompson Creek. This relaxing paddle offers a chance to experience the beauty, wildlife, and quiet creeks that make Maryland’s Eastern Shore a special destination for residents and visitors alike.

Along the way, Ben will share how ShoreRivers works to protect and restore local waterways and why clean, healthy rivers are essential to the region’s growing eco-tourism economy. This expedition highlights the partnership between ShoreRivers and the tourism community, demonstrating how vibrant waterways support recreation, local businesses, and the overall vitality of the Eastern Shore. After the paddle, participants are encouraged to visit the Kent Island Resort’s Beach Bar at 18Twenty, where each person will receive a drink token to redeem with a purchase.

Expedition Registration & Cancelation Policy

ShoreRivers Expeditions are made possible this year through generous support from the National Park Service Chesapeake Gateways Program and the Chesapeake Bay Trust, allowing us to offer these experiences free of charge to our community. As part of this shared investment in accessible, hands-on environmental education, we ask participants to register with intention and a commitment to attend.

Each expedition has limited capacity to ensure a meaningful experience. When spots go unused due to last-minute cancelations or no-shows, it impacts our staff, partners, and fellow community members who may have been eager to participate.
