Interested in growing oysters to support sanctuary reefs?
Consider joining ShoreRivers' Marylanders Grow Oysters (MGO) program. MGO volunteers grow spat on shell off their docks from September to October and then plant the oysters on sanctuary reefs throughout the Eastern Shore. This year, our volunteers grew and planted more than 100,000 oysters!
Join us to learn more about oysters, their importance to our waterways, ways you can protect them, and how to become an MGO volunteer on Monday, October 27, at 10:30am at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. If you have any questions, contact Maegan White at mwhite@shorerivers.org.
