Expedition: The Power of Place: A Reading & Workshop with Meredith Davies Hadaway

  • Lawrence Wetlands Preserve 301 South Mill Street Chestertown, MD, 21620 United States (map)

Join Meredith Davies Hadaway for a reading and generative poetry workshop for both aspiring and experienced poets who want to explore the connection between the inner and outer landscapes that create our world.

An award-winning poet and teacher, Meredith Davies Hadaway is the author of five books of poetry including Small Craft Warning, a collaboration with artist Marcy Dunn Ramsey. Her latest collection, [Among the Many Disappearing Things], was issued in 2024, from Grayson Books.  Hadaway’s work explores the birds, bugs, trees, marshes — and especially the waters — of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, exploring the deep connection between inner and outer landscapes. She has received fellowships from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council and multiple Pushcart nominations. Her collection, At The Narrows, won the 2015 Delmarva Book Prize for Creative Writing. Hadaway holds an MFA in Poetry from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is currently the Sophie Kerr Poet-in-Residence at Washington College, where she teaches literature and creative writing.
