Expedition: Learn How to Fly Fish

Whether you are an experienced fly fisher or a beginner, this expedition is for you! Join ShoreRivers and Chuck Jolly of Rosehill Farm for an afternoon of fly fishing and enjoying the beautiful scenery on a property right next to Mill Creek, a tributary of the Sassafras River.

Rosehill fishery is unique because the top of the food chain in the pond are hybrid stripers and large channel catfish. This frequently enables a student to experience hooking a fish that may take 10–15 minutes before it’s in the net and learn technique in a hands-on way. Lots of people who love to fish with conventional tackle have never tried fly fishing because there is a perception that the gear is expensive and going somewhere “good” requires traveling some distance. This expedition allows you to have the experience without the travel or buying gear.
